2.1P-04-363 Town Centre Improvement Scheme for Fishguard
The Committee considered this petition for the first time and agreed to:
Await the response from the Minister;
Write to Pembrokeshire County Council and local access groups seeking views on the subject of the petition.
2.2P-04-365 Protect buildings of note on the Mid Wales Hospital site
The Committee considered this petition for the first time and agreed to:
Write to Brecon Beacons National Park and Powys County Council to seek views on the subject of the petition;
Write to Cadw, copying in the Minister for Housing, Regeneration and Heritage to seek views on the subject of the petition;
Seek further views on the subject of the petition from Save Britain’s Heritage.
2.3P-04-366 Closure of Aberystwyth Day Centre
The Committee considered this petition for the first time and agreed to await the Minister’s response to the Chair’s correspondence.
2.4P-04-367 Save our Hospital Services
The Committee considered this petition for the first time and agreed to await responses from the Minister and health board.
2.5P-04-368 Promote physical activity and health in Further Education colleges
The Committee considered this petition for the first time and agreed to await a response from the Minister and issue a focused consultation on the subject of the petition.
2.6P-04-369 Against the proposed Cardiff to Newport coastal path
The Committee considered this petition for the first time and agreed to await a response from the Minister and seek the views of the RSPB on the subject of the petition.
3. Updates to previous petitions
3.1P-04-333 Stop neglect and abandonment of horses
The Committee agreed to defer further consideration of this petition until the Cross-party Group on the Horse has completed its consideration of the issue.
3.2P-03-200 The Glamorganshire Canal
The Committee considered correspondence relating to the petition and agreed to write to the petitioner to ask whether he is content for the petition to be closed.
3.3P-03-317 Hijinx Funding for Arts
The Committee considered correspondence relating to the petition and agreed to await the outcome of the Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee task and finish group’s work on access to the arts.
3.4P-04-357 Allocating social housing in Wales
The Committee considered correspondence relating to the petition and agreed to close the petition.
3.5P-04-347 Property and Asset Review
The Committee considered correspondence relating to the petition. Given the positive nature of the responses received, the Committee agreed to close the petition.
4. P-04-329 Control of noise nuisance from wind - Open-mic Session
The Committee heard from members of Grwp Blaengwen Action Group and other members of the community.
The Committee agreed:
To write to the Health and Social Care Committee as well as the Environment and Sustainability Committee, summarising the community’s concerns about the impact of noise from wind turbines and enclosing the transcript of the meeting;
To write to Statkraft to outline the Committee’s concerns about the handling of complaints from the local community; to urge them to find a solution to the noise problems experienced by local people; and to request them to hold a formal meeting with Grwp Blaengwen Action Group to discuss the problems experienced;
That individual Committee Members would share the transcript of the open-mic session with other Assembly Members in their political groups;
Write to the Minister for Health and Social Services to make her aware of the community’s concerns about noise from windfarms;
Write to the Minister for Environment and Sustainable Development to make him aware of the community’s concerns about noise from windfarms and about the lack of a review of, and community consultation on, TAN 8;
To make Wales’ four MEPs aware of the key points of the discussion;
To publish a note of the Committee’s meetings with stakeholders on 27 February.
